How We Work

A residency begins with the household and is developed into one agreed plan. Rochtaine coordinates the residence, staff, dining, transport and day-to-day arrangements throughout an extended family stay.

Residencies begin at 21 nights. The services and costs for your programme are set out in a written proposal and confirmed by agreement.

STEP 01

Understand the household

We begin with a conversation about the people travelling, your preferred location and dates, and the way you would like to spend your time.

The practical details matter: meals, daily routines, the balance of shared and private space, and how the residency will work alongside any staff travelling with you. Your advisers are welcome to take part.

STEP 02

Agree the programme

We prepare a proposal covering the residence, household arrangements, proposed services and costs. You can review the detail with your family, staff or advisers before agreeing the engagement.

The proposal distinguishes the arrangements included in the residency from services to be considered separately.

STEP 03

Prepare for arrival

Once the programme is agreed, the team coordinates the residence and household arrangements. The kitchen, transport and initial days are planned around the family’s arrival and preferences.

STEP 04

Coordinate the residency

During your stay, one point of contact brings requests and practical arrangements together. The agreed programme guides the team, while regular communication keeps the family informed and allows changes to be considered clearly.

Wellbeing at your own pace

For some family members, wellbeing means a quiet morning, movement or time outdoors. For others, it may include a private session with a suitable practitioner.

Tell us what you would like to maintain or explore during the residency. We can discuss appropriate arrangements and available facilities as part of the household plan.

The household

Staffing is planned around the residence and the family. Private chef and housekeeping arrangements can be coordinated with your own household staff, with roles and schedules agreed during preparation.

Family days

A residency leaves room for both shared experiences and individual interests. Cultural visits, local dining and time outdoors can be considered alongside ordinary days at home.

We help shape a manageable rhythm, taking account of journeys, meal times and the interests of those taking part. Activities are optional elements within the residency and are agreed for the family concerned.

Dining

Menus, meal times and provisioning are planned with the family. A private kitchen can support the ordinary rhythm of the day as well as an occasional gathering around the table.

Dietary requirements are discussed during the planning process so that the kitchen arrangements can be assessed and agreed.

Getting around

Airport transfers and local journeys can be incorporated into the residency. Where a dedicated driver or other travel arrangement is appropriate, it is considered as part of the wider programme.

Private aviation or charter enquiries can also be discussed where relevant. Options depend on the residence, suitable operators and the arrangements agreed for the journey.

Staying connected

If members of the household need time for work or private family discussions, tell us at the start. The layout, working space and connectivity requirements can then be considered when selecting and preparing the residence.

Discuss your requirements

Share your preferred dates, location and the outline of your household. We will begin with a personal conversation.
